About
The design seamlessly blends the old and new buildings, with the new construction section sitting alongside the existing building. A central exhibition hall with double-height glass walls serves as a bridge between the two structures and showcases a valuable collection of coins and metal artifacts. The existing block arcade provides easy access to the central hall and creates spaces and service areas around it. Tours begin from the main exhibition hall and a central staircase connects the new and existing sections. The new section's facade borrows elements from the past and proposes them in a contemporary way, with small openings in the first-floor facades allowing natural light to enter the exhibition spaces without affecting the collections. The new facades serve as a contemporary reflection of the heritage.
