About
The Luseil Mosque in Qatar is a mosque with a capacity of approximately 9,000 people and was designed with respect for Islamic craft and tradition. The main gate invites visitors to enter the sacred space of the sanctuary with its enclosed courtyard. The basic organizational principles of the traditional mosque are adopted and consist of a large covered prayer hall, an adjacent courtyard and side programs with porticoes surrounding the courtyard. The relationship between these spaces mediates the journey between the physical and the spiritual.
